CLEAR FOCUS Window Graphics Film Chosen for See-thru Spectaculars in Sydney & São Paulo
SANTA ROSA, CA December 20, 2000 Since its introduction in 1994, CLEAR FOCUS perforated, window-graphics film has been used for an increasingly diverse array of applications. Initially employed on the window portion of bus wraps, the product quickly became popular for its tremendous potential in such fields as P-O-P window posters and other retail signage; promotional graphics for taxis, delivery vans and other vehicles; corporate identity; and museum and convention center graphics. Now CLEAR FOCUS film has become the medium of choice for blockbuster building wraps, with new records continually being set for the sheer size of some of the high-profile images printed on it. # Three sides of a 26-story highrise in Sydney, Australia, were wrapped in CLEAR FOCUS SuperVue® perforated vinyl with images of world-champion track star Cathy Freeman, tennis player Lleyton Hewitt and basketball star Lauren Jackson for the 2000 Summer Olympics as part of a promotional campaign by Nike. The image of Cathy Freeman shows her in the starting position with the words "Just Do It" and the red Nike swoosh above her left shoulder. Together the three signs, which cover some 2,575 square meters (27,715 sq. ft.) of the building, are believed to have set a new record for the amount of perforated window-graphics vinyl installed on a single building in Sydney. Nike, along with building co-owners Waterways Authority and BT Funds Management, received the approval of the Olympic authorities for this mega-graphic installation which was printed by Admark on a Scotchprint 2000 system. |

In São Paulo, Brazil, CLEAR FOCUS film importer Strada Publicidade played a major role in the creation of a stunning cylindrical building wrap measuring 4,050 square meters (43,593 sq. ft). It is the largest such wrap to date using CLEAR FOCUS SuperVue film. The graphics were printed by Spectaculars in Sydney & São PauloBureau Bandeirante on a Vutek superwide-format inkjet printer for a special promotion by Globo.com, an Internet company in São Paulo. A team of 20 professional climbers using specialized mountaineering equipment took turns repelling down the side of the building to apply the pressure-sensitive film to its glass facade. An additional team of 10, including a safety engineer, provided the necessary logistical support. Strada representative Alexandre Boz likened the colorful "spectacular" to a fireworks display because of its tremendous visibility by such a large audience in such a relatively short span of time. The building wrap is expected to remain up for one year.
CLEAR FOCUS offers the widest range of perforated, pressure-sensitive vinyl films for window graphics. ClassicVue® exterior-mount film features a smaller hole size (1.5 mm) than other CLEAR FOCUS films and is a popular choice for vehicle windows, especially buses, and for images requiring finer text or detail.
