FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Beloved Flag Returns as Local Landmark
Saatchi & Saatchi Continues to Honor America's Greatest
WHAT: On September 26, 2001, Saatchi & Saatchi,
Los Angeles hung a five-story American flag to cover the west wall
of its Torrance, Calif. office building. A recent rainstorm brought
down the flag, damaging the building. Based upon an outpouring
of sympathy and expressions of profound loss, Saatchi will hang
a new American flag in a continued tribute to the victims, families
and rescue workers of the World Trade Center and Pentagon disaster.
Working with Adera Corporation (Las Vegas, NV) and Clear Focus
Imaging (Santa Rosa, CA), this new version will wrap the Sepulveda
side of the Torrance office building, like a bus wrap.
An enormous 90-by-54 foot, self-adhesive American flag made of perforated, see-through vinyl has been created to wrap a large portion of the five-story office building to confirm the company's unrelenting support for the nation. Residents and visitors of the city of Torrance driving on Hawthorne Boulevard or Sepulveda Boulevard will be able to observe this American tribute. In fact, it can be seen for miles, well up into Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Saatchi also had one of its employee's cars, a Toyota Sequoia, wrapped with the Stars & Stripes. The American flag Toyota Sequoia will be present at the installation. It has already appeared in one parade and is scheduled to appear in other events throughout the Southland, well into next year.
