COPIA

CLEAR FOCUS and SuperGraphics Provide Signs of Creativity at Copia:
The American Center for Wine, Food & The Arts

NAPA, Calif. January 10, 2002 CLEAR FOCUS Imaging of Santa Rosa, California is pleased to be a part of Copia: The American Center for Wine, Food & The Arts, a new culinary and cultural center located in Napa Valley. Adding to the multi-sensory experience at Copia is a unique interior-design application of see-through window graphics in three glass-walled rooms of the "Forks in the Road" permanent exhibition. Visitors can walk around the main exhibit area and see clearly into the rooms, thanks to the window graphics' one-way visibility. Once a person is inside one of the rooms, however, the window graphics are designed to impair his or her vision out. They draw one's attention to the center of the room, where there's a table and chairs, with a plasma presentation screen set inside the table.

Says Steve Wiersema of Oakland, Calif.-based West Office Exhibition Design, the design firm responsible for the exhibit space, "The three rooms are outfitted to resemble a kitchen, a dining room and a wine cellar. Each of the rooms tells a personal story about the culinary traditions that were brought over from other countries, and how those traditions have been adapted with other traditions of the United States. The graphics represent the scenic quality of the interior space."

The see-through window graphics were printed by SuperGraphics (San Jose, Calif.) on a Scotchprint 2000 e-stat system on ClassicVue perforated, pressure-sensitive vinyl film produced by CLEAR FOCUS Imaging. This is the same material used for bus wraps and promotional signage in major cities around the world.

Copia: The American Center for Wine, Food & The Arts offers culinary demonstrations, art exhibits and concerts, as well as a wide variety of programs. Other highlights include Julia's Kitchen, a fine dining room named after renowned chef and honorary trustee Julia Child, and three and one-half acres of organic gardens.
