Hollywood Building Wraps Promote New Russell Crowe Film,
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

October 23, 2003 20th Century Fox has commissioned two building wraps to launch its new film, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, starring Russell Crowe. The see-through wraps are located at 6922 Hollywood Boulevard, directly across the street from the Mann's Chinese Theater and the new Kodak Theater in Hollywood. Measuring more than 22,000 square feet, the digitally created graphics were installed in October and will remain up for six weeks, through the opening of the film on November 14, 2003.

The project was produced by Beverly Hills, Calif.-based SkyTag, an outdoor media company specializing in building "spectaculars". Other high-profile projects by SkyTag include an ongoing series of building murals for Nissan; a three-sided wrap promoting the 20th anniversary re-release of Universal Studios' E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial in March 2002; and a 25,000-square-foot window graphic for the Britney Spears HBO-broadcast concert at the MGM Grand Hotel in March 2001.

The graphics were printed on CLEAR FOCUS One Way Vision™ film (Santa Rosa, Calif.) on a VUTEk UltraVu super-wide-format digital printer by Adera Corporation of Las Vegas, NV. The perforated, pressure-sensitive vinyl film allows a colorful graphic on one side yet has the appearance of a transparent window tint from the other.
